CarbonFitt is preparing an independent research programme to test mineral performance, environmental safeguards, net carbon removal and the evidence needed for credible scale-up.
Research objective
The programme is designed to determine whether the system works, under which conditions, with what uncertainty and within which safety limits.
Planned work includes laboratory characterisation, controlled weathering experiments, replicated field-relevant testing, lifecycle assessment and an independently reviewable data record. Planned work is not presented as completed validation.
Define mineral identity, source, batch, particle size, surface area, neutralisation potential and trace-element profile.
Use treated and untreated controls to test weathering indicators, detection limits and environmental safeguards.
Run replicated outdoor test cells only after baseline definition, safety review and an agreed sampling plan.
Separate theoretical capacity, modelled removal and measured evidence, then deduct lifecycle emissions.
Minimum evidence
A credible outcome requires representative material sampling, untreated controls, replicates, baseline data, defined analytical methods, quality assurance, environmental monitoring and conservative uncertainty treatment.
Nickel, chromium and other relevant trace elements must be screened before field deployment. Dust, pH, drainage chemistry and material handling require explicit safeguards and pause criteria.
Material specification To be confirmed
Independent research lead Appointment required
Laboratory protocol In development
Field test site Not yet selected
Verified net removal Not yet determined
Controls experimental design, analysis, interpretation and publication. This role is not yet appointed.
Provides the physical mineral system, application knowledge, batch records and deployment support.
Preserves the non-confidential evidence chain, data provenance, calculation versions and review status.
CarbonFitt welcomes discussions with universities, geochemists, materials laboratories, lifecycle specialists, field-test hosts and independent assurance organisations. Do not send confidential technical information through the enquiry form.
